In real-life environments, interior surfaces can often face high temperatures, especially when exposed to boiling water. This raises the question: Can melamine-coated boards maintain their durability and aesthetics when exposed to temperatures up to 100°C? Let's check with Moc Phat through a 100°C boiling water test with Melamine-coated boards.

Overview of the 100°C boiling water test with Melamine-coated boards

In this test, Moc Phat used samples of laminated wood, plastic boards and Plywood boards in the MocPhatPlus solution set. The test was performed by soaking melamine-coated boards in boiling water at 100°C for 20 minutes. The goal of this test is to test the heat resistance, water resistance and stability of the melamine coating when exposed directly to 100°C boiling water for a certain period of time.

Scale for evaluating the test in boiling water at 100°C with melamine-coated boards

For this test, Moc Phat conducts an evaluation according to 5 levels in ascending order. With level 1 showing the most obvious level of influence and level 5, most will not see any obvious change. Through the evaluation, Moc Phat hopes that you will have more perspectives on the quality of our board products. In addition, you can refer to Moc Phat's quality standards to better understand the physical and mechanical properties of the product.

Level 1: Surface deformation, color change, blistering

Level 2: Surface clearly changes in gloss and color

Level 3: Moderate gloss and color change

Level 4: Slight change, only visible at a certain angle

Level 5: Surface has no obvious change

Test results in boiling water at 100°C with melamine-coated boards

Test results show that laminated wood and plastic boards in the MocPhatPlus solution set do not have obvious changes after being exposed to boiling water at 100°C for 20 minutes. For Plywood boards, the surface shows signs of slight blistering at a certain angle. You can read more about melamine surface strength testing method to better understand the quality of Moc Phat boards.
