Overview of the Melamine surface abrasion index test

The melamine surface abrasion index test is conducted to evaluate the durability of the melamine surface on industrial wood products supplied by Moc Phat. Through the test, Moc Phat hopes to demonstrate the superior quality of Moc Phat's MelaminePro technology, ensuring high abrasion resistance. In addition, it also clearly reflects the thickness of the melamine paper layer.

For this test, Moc Phat performed on 3 products including: Plywood of the MocPhatPlus brand line, MDF and MFC of the MocPhatPro board line. The testing process was conducted using a specialized machine, applying a weight of 500g and operating at a speed of 60 rpm. The samples were tested through three rotation levels of 150, 500 and 1000 rpm to accurately and objectively evaluate the abrasion resistance of the melamine surface.

For this test, Moc Phat applied a scale based on 5 levels to accurately evaluate the actual condition of the test. The evaluation criteria are built on the level of change in deformation on the surface such as: gloss, surface condition after testing for a certain period of time. Level 1: Surface deformation, color change, blistering

Level 2: Surface changes significantly in gloss and color

Level 3: Moderate gloss and color change

Level 4: Slight change, only visible at a certain angle

The test results show that at levels of 150, 500 and 1000 cycles, the melamine surface has obvious changes according to each level.
