What is melamine?
Melamine is an organic compound with the chemical formula C3H6N6. It is a type of organic base that is insoluble in water and has the ability to precipitate with acids to form melamine salts.
Melamine is widely used in industrial production today (toys, furniture, household goods, etc.) with many outstanding properties such as high bonding strength, good heat resistance, no corrosion, no odor, etc.
Moc Phat's melamine raw materials are imported from Italy, which are safe for human health. Therefore, the melamine surface of Moc Phat ensures the highest quality surface product, meeting the CPSIA standard of the United States.
What is melamine paper?
Melamine paper is fully named as "decorative paper coated with melamine." This melamine layer helps to protect the surface of the decorative paper, making the paper moisture-proof, scratch-resistant, and scratch-resistant, and increasing the surface hardness.
It is also the bonding component between the surface coating and the industrial wood core. Currently, Moc Phat is a manufacturer that provides melamine paper for small and large industrial wood panel manufacturers in
Vietnam and abroad.
Composition of melamine paper
Melamine paper is composed of:
· Decorative paper: paper that simulates the natural wood grain patterns, fabrics, stones, metals, etc.
· Melamine layer: is the layer on the surface of decorative paper. The melamine layer is formed from melamine particles and other
additives. It creates bonding as well as surface effects for decorative paper.
Production process of melamine paper
The production process of decorative paper coated with melamine requires careful and flexible preparation, as even a small mistake can lead to a faulty process due to the automated production line. Moc Phat will explain the production process of decorative paper coated with melamine, which includes the following steps:
· Preparation of raw materials: this is the most important step in the process, the raw materials include decorative paper, glue formula that has been customized by Moc Phat for each type of paper, packaging accessories, etc.
· Preparation of the glue dipping system, the decorative paper after being dipped in melamine glue will be dried and cut to the desired width of the initial automatic selection system
· The decorative paper after being coated with melamine glue and dried and cut to size will be wrapped and stored in a cold room.
Especially, the cold room of Moc Phat is divided into three cold rooms with three different temperatures, because each type of decorative paper after being dipped in melamine glue will adapt to a different storage temperature.
Advantages and disadvantages of decorative paper coated with melamine
Advantages:
· Rich colors, simulating natural wood grain, fabric, stone, metal, oil painting, etc., meeting many creative ideas and design styles
· Diverse surfaces.
· Durable, scratch-resistant surface, water-resistant.
· The surface processing process is simple and fast.
· Melamine-coated decorative paper has a reasonable price.
Disadvantages: Compared to other surface coatings such as laminate, acrylic, the shaping ability, impact resistance is poor, and maintenance is more difficult.
